Overview
The methods that are frequently used in my lab are those presented here. There are other labs with much greater experience and expertise in identifying Pythium through DNA sequencing, especially,
C. Andre Lévesque

Examine the papers published by Dr. Lévesque and the papers he cites to learn more about Pythium sequencing.
Identification based on morphology requires experience, patience, and careful observation. As you examine more and more isolates, you will learn to recognize the species common to your area. Those species may be very different from the species found elsewhere.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, you should be able to:
- Describe protocols for identifying Pythium species based on microscopic morphology
- Describe protocols for identifying Pythium species based on DNA sequencing
