About Me
During my undergraduate degree, I enjoyed farm work at my university's research farm and gained interest in sustainable agriculture. I fell in love with plant pathology through working in the Poleatewich lab at UNH studying the efficacy of biocontrol products on apple. Now, I'm excited to continue working with apple and conduct my graduate research on Sclerotium rolfsii (southern blight), a pathogen with extremely limited research and minimal control methods available in apple production.
Current Research
- Identifying common trends in apple orchards infested with S. rolfsii
- Isolating and sequencing southern blight samples from Pennsylvania
- Screening apple rootstocks for susceptibility to S. rolfsii
- Evaluating the efficacy of fungicide products rated for control of southern blight on other crops on isolates of apple
