I am a biologist investigating viruses at the interface of agricultural and natural ecosystems. My research integrates genomics, metagenomics, and computational analysis with ecological concepts to reveal the dynamics of host-virus interactions across the ecological landscape. Investigating plant, fungal, and insect vector-virus interactions, we explore how the virome shapes and is shaped by host communities and environmental gradients. Our goal is to identify the ecological drivers of viral diversity, co-infection, and emergence, and to inform more effective disease management strategies that support sustainable agriculture and ecosystem resilience.
