About Us

Penn State research dealing with the cultivated mushroom and problems related to its culture was begun in the mid-1920s. In 1928, the first mushroom research facility was built on campus and expanded in 1934 with monies given by the Mushroom Growers Cooperative Association of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
