Dr. Manan Sharma, Research Microbiologist at USDA-ARS, visited PPEM October 8-9.

The Department of Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology (PPEM) welcomed Dr. Manan Sharma, Research Microbiologist in the U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS), October 8-9, 2017, as guest PPATH 590 Colloquium speaker.

Dr. Sharma met with several PPEM and Food Science faculty members as well as graduate students interested in postdoctoral opportunities in the USDA. His topic during a coffee break with students was titled "What it's like to be a USDA scientist these days."

Dr. Sharma's PPATH 590 seminar was titled "Produce safety, like politics, is local: survival of enteric pathogens in the agricultural environment and risks to human health."
