Congratulations to Phillip Martin, a 2017 awardee of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program.

Ph.D. student Phillip L. Martin is a 2017 awardee of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program. As an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, Martin will benefit from a three-year annual stipend, a $12,000 cost-of-education allowance for tuition and fees (paid to Penn State), and opportunities for international research and professional development.

Martin will work with his adviser Dr. Kari Peter on bitter rot of apples caused by Colletotrichum species, focusing on population genetics, fungicide resistance, epidemiology, and integrated control strategies.
