Congratulations to Ph.D. candidate Freddy Magdama for successfully defending his dissertation on Jan. 20.

Ph.D. candidate Freddy Magdama successfully defended his dissertation titled "Population biology of Fusarium oxysporum associated with banana in Ecuador" on Jan. 20. Freddy's adviser is María del Mar Jiménez Gasco.

Freddy plans to return to his family in his native Ecuador in early February to continue his work as Professor at Ecuador's Polytechnic School of the Coast (ESPOL) and the Ecuadorian Center for Biotechnology Research (CIBE) in the plant pathology department.
