On March 20, 2017, the Department of Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology (PPEM) had the pleasure of welcoming Elizabeth (Libby) Cieniewicz as part of the department's student seminar exchange program with Cornell University's Geneva campus. Libby is a third-year Ph.D student in Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology at Cornell under the guidance of Dr. Marc Fuchs.

During her visit Cieniewicz met with numerous faculty members, had meals with students, and enjoyed Penn State's famous ice cream with virology students. Libby's seminar was titled "Ecology and epidemiology of grapevine red blotch disease: an epidemic in the Napa Valley."

The student seminar exchange program is an annual lecture series between graduate students at Penn State and graduate students at Cornell University-Geneva campus who study plant pathology.
