Posted: January 31, 2016
At the end of January Dr. Rosa spent two weeks on a trip to southeast Asia to help establish a research program on the use of integrated pest management (IPM) in vegetable and mango production.
The Vegetable Crops and Mango IPM in Asia project is sponsored by a U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) grant awarded to the IPM Innovation Lab at Virginia Tech, led by Dr. George Norton, with Penn State and Ohio State University as collaborating institutions. The lead Principal Investigator (PI) for Penn State is Dr. Ed Rajotte from Entomology with Dr. Rosa as Co-PI on the grant.
During her visit to Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Nepal, Rosa witnessed how plant viruses are a big problem in vegetable production. Her aim now is to provide expertise in virus/vector control. See PHOTOS
