López-Moya a Visiting Postdoc in Roossinck Lab

Juan José López-Moya Gómez comes from Barcelona to join Marilyn Roossinck's lab as visiting postdoc.

On June 23 the Department of Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology (PPEM) welcomed Dr. Juan José López-Moya Gómez, who began a six-month stay as a postdoctoral scholar in Dr. Marilyn Roossinck's lab.

Originally from Madrid and formerly a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Kentucky, Dr. López-Moya has been a Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas-Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CIB-CSIC) Associate Professor and Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) staff scientist in Barcelona, Spain, since 2000.

Dr. López-Moya's research interests include:

  • Control of plant pathogenic viruses
  • Plant-virus-vector interactions and transmission
  • Plant defense responses and RNA silencing suppression
