Wodzicki Places Second in Gamma Sigma Delta Research Expo

Lianna Wodzicki, B.S. student in Plant Science who works in the Plant Disease Clinic and is President of Blooms and Shrooms, was awarded 2nd Place among twenty-one participants in the Plant Biology and Environmental Science division of the Gamma Sigma Delta Research Exposition held March 28.
Lianna's presentation was titled, "How does auxin signaling affect Vat mediated aphid resistance?" Her research was conducted under the guidance of Drs. Sampurna Sattar and Gary A. Thompson.
This month Lianna plans to present her research in the Undergraduate Research Expo on April 5 and at the American Society for Plant Biologists Northeast Meeting at Yale University on April 22.
Wodzicki is currently collaborating on a publication with Drs. Sattar and Thompson based on the work presented at the Gamma Sigma Delta Research Exposition.
In the future Lianna hopes to go to grad school for an advanced degree in plant pathology and one day become a plant diagnostician.
