Dr. Yongho Jeon, Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Medicals at Andong National University in Korea, joined the Kang lab on Jan. 1. His research interests are diverse, including plant disease diagnosis, biocontrol of diseases, post-harvest disease control, and mechanisms underlying plant-beneficial microbe interactions. Dr. Jeon's wife Dr. Younmi Lee and their three children accompanied him: Changha (oldest), Changmin, and Haein (youngest). Both Dr. Jeon and Dr. Lee plan to work on how metabolites produced by Trichoderma spp. affect other microbes in light of biocontrol and how Trichoderma spp. respond to volatile compounds produced by soil-borne pathogens.
