Ph.D. candidate Kristi Fenstermacher and M.S. student Melissa Finley worked together as interns from May to September 2016 on the Penn State Node of the Bugwood Images project. Kristi and Melissa researched and entered identifications, taxonomy, and description data for nearly 650 plant pathogen images from Dr. Gary Moorman's collection and select departmental 35mm slides that were digitized through Pattee Library. They also designed a quick-guide for Penn State Node users.

The Penn State Node is the result of the department's collaboration with Joe LaForest, Associate Director for the Southern Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Center and the IPM and Forest Health Specialist at the Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health, University of Georgia.
