USDA/ARS Research Plant Pathologist Dr. Frank Martin gave a seminar titled “A systematic approach for developing markers for population studies and diagnostics, as well as evaluating phylogenetics of Oomycetes” on Monday, September 19, 2016.

In the seminar Dr. Martin overviewed various molecular diagnostics tools and methods currently available or under development to support diagnosis of Phytophthora and other Oomycete pathogens. He also met with faculty and students and discussed the future direction of the Phytophthora Database, an online community platform that he and Dr. Seogchan Kang built to support Phytophthora identification and molecular diagnosis.
