Colloquium Speaker Bill Wintermantel Visits PPEM

Dr. William T. (Bill) Wintermantel, Research Plant Pathologist at the United States Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) in Salinas, CA, visited Penn State's Department of Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology (PPEM) on October 16-18.

Wintermantel presented a seminar titled "Understanding the connection between gene expression in the whitefly (Bemisia tabaci MEAM 1) and the biology of crinivirus transmission." He discussed research with several members of the department and also held a discussion session with the graduate students comparing the working environment of academia versus the federal government.
