2012 College of Agricultural Sciences Research Exposition

Six graduate students from the Department of Plant Pathology participated in the 2012 College of Agricultural Sciences Research Exposition, sponsored by the Gamma Sigma Delta Ag. Science Honor Society, on March 14-15.

Participants included Brian Aynardi, Emily Helliwell, Anna Testen, Yinfei Li, Vasileios Bitas, and Sarah Bardsley.  Posters and student presentations were judged by faculty from 10 departments based on poster content, poster design, and quality of presentation.  Representing Plant Pathology as judges were Judy Sinn, Paul Backman, and Fred Gildow.  There were approximately 18 undergraduate student posters and 50 graduate posters.  Approximately $3,800 was awarded to 13 students representing 6 science divisions.  Congratulations go to Anna Testen who placed first in the Biological Sciences division, Sarah Bardsley who placed second in the Environmental and Natural Resources division, and Emily Helliwell who placed fourth in the Biological Sciences division.  Comments from judges indicated that all the Plant Pathology posters were very well presented and deserving of recognition and were indicative of the high quality of the Plant Pathology graduate program.
