At the University of Florida Dr. Erica Goss is Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology and in the Emerging Pathogens Institute. The Goss lab uses genetic and genomic data to understand the ecology and evolution of populations of plant pathogens and plant-associated microbes. The long-term goal of her research is to better understand the factors that contribute to the emergence of destructive pathogens and their continued success as they evolve in new environments and on new hosts. Current projects in the lab include ecological and evolutionary studies of oomycetes and population genomics of Xanthomonas.
